What paint do I use for silverware/dishware?

You can buy paint at most craft stores which can be painted on, then baked in a home oven, and it will then be dishwasher proof.

However, it isn't suitable for what you want to do. It's best at doing line designs and small solid areas. It's very difficult to cover large areas with and get it evenly applied. The brand I have used, Pebeo, would not cover another colour easily unless the original colour was pale and you painted black over it. It's expensive paint. If you bought enough to cover a whole set of dishes, it would cost more than buying another set of reasonably priced dishes.

Sharpie makes oil paint pens. They are wonderful. They are permanent when you use them on dishes and bake them. The instructions should be on the pkg. or you can google the instructions.

they would be worth a lot of money if they are of an antique look , check the base for the inscriptions E.P.N.S.

I have some silverware and plates, bowls that have an ugly design on them and I wanted to paint just a solid color on them. I have no idea what paint to use for this. I do know that it has to be food-safe and that I can't use regular paints like acrylic or oil paints. I also know that it needs to be dishwasher safe. What kind of paint do I need for this? I don't want to have to buy another set because it's a good set, it's just not my style.
