Get a natural, plain colour, like cream so no matter what colour your room is (even if you paint it in the future) it will look good and nit stand out.
I'd paint the door and the trim the same off white as the walls. For the carpeting, you are right to not go too light OR too dark. A medium shade is always best. I'd go with either a medium shade of sandy beige for a warm look or for a cooler look, a medium gray. Frieze is a nice type of carpeting for a bedroom. It's cozy but not too shaggy. All the carpet should be the same color. Maybe a cream like the walls or a soft pink

Currently, my bedroom has 3 off-white walls & one red wall. My carpet is dark green (gross, I know. don't ask, my room used to be my parents' room.) However, because of that I'm getting a new carpet. I just can't decide which color. At first I was thinking white, but I'm not too sure about that because it would show pretty much every stain (I'm not that messy, but my friends are). I'm now thinking about a black carpet, except that that would show every thing that's not black or dark. Any suggestions on color, material, etc? Also, any tips on the trim & door to my room? Maybe black for the trim? Right now the trim & my door are brown (again, my parents). Any suggestions for the door & trim? Thanks in advance.
