Sounds like the types of chemicals put in Round up or total kill, possibly kerosene, or gas, would cause it.

Something soaked into the pine trees before it could be cut and stained the outer layers grey. Had to of happened before it was harvested or milled, it is brand new wood. Doesn't appear to have been burned.
