Question in relation to bobbin on sewing machine?

It is feed dogs----and there are lots of problems solved on UTUBR for you to watch

Hi,

I'm a very new sewer and was given an old Janome sewing machine to use. I originally had difficulty as nothing was moving in the bobbin case and therefore the dog feed wasn't moving and was dropped, but i disassembled the machine and found the problem (lose screws on the rotating shaft) and it's all fixed.

Now I'm having a lot of difficulty, I thread the needle correctly, then I hand rotate the needle down so it can pick up the bobbin thread and nothing is being picked up at all. I know the timing is right because the hook picks up the needle thread but that's it. I know the tension on the bobbin is okay also. Does anyone have a visual internal demonstration of how the bobbin thread is actually picked up? OR can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong. I've watched several videos so I'm relatively confident I've got the bobbin in correctly but why isn't it being picked up?

Any help much appreciated :)
