Neighbours parking in my space? awkward divider placement?

I would go and introduce yourselves and have a chat about it. I have just moved into a close where the spaces are numbered and there are no visitors spaces. I was warned that the builder working on one house used the space for mine because the house was empty before I moved in. Another day a neighbour was parked in my space and then apologised. It seems to be an unwritten thing that if a space is empty, a visitor uses it, but I think people in my close are quite considerate and so far, it hasn't been an issue. Your neighbours may have taken advantage of the fact that the house you are in has been empty, or the previous occupants only had one car. If you need both spaces, then tell them. Do it politely and unless they are horrible people, shouldn't be upset at it. They probably already know that they can only use one space and are taking advantage until someone tells them otherwise.

If the agents will not confirm that you have dedicated parking, then you cannot assume that you have any parking rights at all. Doesn't look like Daventry have kept their planning applications online.

The terrace looks to have 5 homes and 6 parking plots.

Since the twp end ones seem to be the same size, i'd say it's one parking place/household plus one shared visitor. The land registry site should give the outline of the plot, including parking allocation(s).

An estate agent is not the person to ask, They will say anything to make a sale or agreement and are usually ignorant of such things. The information will be on the title deeds. A copy will be kept by the land registry. So it is the landlord's responsibility since they are the owner. You should write directly to them via the agent if necessary. Note also agents often do not pass on tenants concerns since it looks bad on their service.

quite simple really ... go introduce yourselves, and talk it over with the neighbour!

my guess is, he's parkign there cos he knows no-one else is using it!

If you need both spaces, then tell them.

go talk to them about it

i'm renting a new house and due to move in this week. when we viewed the property there were 2 designating parking space out the front of the house to which a neighbour was parked in one of them. we have been assured by our estate agents that it is our space however they have not been able to provide this in writing even though we have repeatedly asked .

On the floor outside of the house is a paved divider stating two spaces are indeed for our house however this divider is placed in the middle of the house next to us hence why i think hes parking over the divider into our space. this means we will be left with one space even though we are entitled to 2. we do not want to cause tension straight away with the new neighbours. i believe they are parking there as they have 2 cars but only one space as their house is considerably smaller. we dont know what to do

I have taken a screenshot of a satellite image of the property and put on photobucket, not sure which link it is
