I live on a second floor apartment of multifamily house where I have access to the attic. It's more like a storage area for me. There is one section of the apartment where there is no power outlets around, and I am forced to use the closest one which is in the attic which is an external outlet. I ran down 15 amps 15' extension cord into my apartment and connected window air conditioner 8000btus - 8amps. So far I did not have any problems. My only concern is that this power outlet gets really warm because it gets very very hot in the attic. I am wondering how dangerous it is for my setup and use, and is there any way to protect this external power outlet from outside heat?
