It doesn't really matter which is which, and AC lamp will work either way. You can skip the ground point on the plug.

It does matter which one goes where. If you use the hot wire that connects to the neutral the outside of the socket (screw socket) will become hot. The contact point inside at the bottom of the socket should be the hot lead.
