If it's fiberglass take a sawzall and cut it into two pieces and remove it that way. If it's cast iron, either break in into pieces using a sledge hammer or remove the sheetrock around tub and lift it out. It is way easier to break it apart. If it's a steel tub, remove the sheetrock and remove the tub or take a metal cutting blade on an angle grinder and cut it into two pieces and remove it that way.

You would...give us more information on what type of bathtub it is. The only thing for certain you need to do before removing it, no matter the style of tub, is to turn the water off and cap the water supply lines in the wall.
