How did a wasp come through my closed window that has a screen?

MOST WINDOWS, BEING STORM OR SCREEN HAVE WEEP HOLES, THIS MIGHT BE WHERE THEY ARE COMING IN. DEPENDING ON YOUR CONSTRUCTION AND YEAR BUILT... IT COULD BE ANYWHERE. THEY DONT NEED MUCH OF AN OPENING.

Okay so I have this really bad phobia of wasps and bees and anything of that nature, so when I saw one outside my window I shut it (even though I have a screen and technically didn't need to) and then went back to reading. It kinda disappeared after I shut it, so I'm guessing it got stuck in between the screen and the window or something because like two minutes later it was in my room! and it was HUGE and red and it's stinger was ginormous ohmygod. So what I'm wondering was how it got behind my screen in the first place (if that's even what happened?) or how it got past my closed window? my mom said it came in though the vents but my vent is right above my bed so I would've seen it fly in plus it wasn't near the vent when I saw it, it was behind the blinds. if you guys could answer that would be great, it's late spring and I don't want to have wasp problems all summer!
