Help with buying a fireplace?

No that won't work. If you purchase that You could only put Electric logs in it. An electric insert and electric fireplace are the same thing. It's just a box that has more details, lights, etc. than the electric logs. You can always buy an electric insert/fireplace and buy a mantel like the edwardian mantel. Although before you do. You would want to purchase your electric insert so that you have the exact dimensions. Because if you buy your mantel and they don't fit, your stuck. Fireplace shops that sell mantels can always have them custom sized though to fit your insert.

If you are set on a cast iron fireplace than the most you can do is electric logs. They come in 18 or 24in length. Then you could buy your edwardian, see which size fits, push it against the wall and plug it in. But I would recommend you go to a fireplace shop and look at some electric logs turned on first compared to an actual electric fireplace. Because the fireplace has alot more flames n light.

I'm looking to buy a cast metal fireplace but would like to put an electric insert (preferably a glass plated one) into it. I was wondering if it would be possible with this one on ebay (Ebay number 251632729545 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251632729545?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)
