I dont find it a problem to decorate your room the way you want without decorating the rest of the house .... eventually you are the one spending time in this room ... and having one room's carpet color different from the rest of the house is fine.

This is done all the time.. The single room carpet is seamed at the door way so that carpet from either side isn t showing . Done it 100s of times myself for people.. GL

So, I told my mom and sister I wanted a nice blue carpet in my room because my carpet is this ugly beige with random stains from over the years. My sister told me I'd have to have the whole house done and I'm not too sure how any of that works but can I just have my room done and leave the rest the ugly beige? Like I only want my room because I had such a great design for it.
