I tried to build floor plans on Sims 3 when we were in the process of building a new house and it didn't work out too well. Things on Sims aren't exactly scaled to real life objects. But what I did was knew all the measurements of the house/room and then for every 2 feet I used one square on sims, which worked well until you have an odd number of feet. It's worth a shot though and it may turn out well :)
well it might be hard to build an exact replica because what you can do is still some what limited but i don't see why not get close to the real deal. But it depends on what the house looks like. Like i said, building options are somewhat limited, with practice and experience (and cheat codes) it's still possible to do somewhat more.
This is so my mom can see where it would be a good idea to break walls for renovations etc.
