Which is a better material as far as quality, longevity and comfort when it comes to office chairs? mesh or leather?

The mesh chair is better.

I have my reasons why. First, it is comfortable and can relieve stress at work. Second, it has a minimal maintenance. Employees usually sweat during working hours and these sweats when soaked into upholstery, produces an unpleasant odor. Third, it is durable. Furniture makers say that a mesh chair has a durable thin fabric seat thatr take many years to break down. Fourth, it's appealing style. I love the way it was furnished. And lastly, is its support. Most mesh chairs are ergonomically shaped, in way that they forces an employee to sit with good posture.

Many companies choose mesh chair products because of these benefits. One best company I know is the readyfit.com.au. They have various office furniture you can check out.

Hope this helps.

You are really comparing apples to oranges when asking the question. Most commercial grade mesh chairs last just as long as leather foam chairs. Remember a cheap $100 chair that says is 100% leather really isnt. They take the scraps from the hide and blend them together to create "100% leather." The fibers are weak when done this way. A true leather chair is quite expensive since its a single cut from the hide. To answer your question it comes down to the employees in the office and what they prefer. Ask your local office furniture dealer to provide samples for the staff to try.
