What works for me is to live paycheck to paycheck. When I get paid, all the money from my last paycheck gets transferred to my savings account, and I live only off the latest paycheck. You also want to be more conservative in your spending. If you go out every night to the clubs, maybe stay home 3 or 4 nights a week and just watch a movie.
Well, I'm not old enough to have a job yet, BUT I am able to earn gift cards for places by using a site called 'Swagbucks' (look up if you've never heard of it). You are given the opportunity to take surveys, or you can also search using their toolbar and watch videos and play their games. After about a week you can trade points for about a $5 to almost any major store/restaurant chain.

You need to say what you have tried so far & your age ....three ways I will give you
1---- have money removed from pay straight to a investment ( talk to bank )
2---- have extra income tax removed from pay ( year end get it back & invest all of it ) ( talk to bank )
3---- look at what your expenses are - can you save any money by cutting down abit. ( put in saving )
I usually started saving all the change and one dollar bills i got. Having those in my wallet is annoying so i put all the coins and small bills in a jar and you'll be surprised how much you have in time.
Only take out with you the amount of cash that you know you need. That avoids the impulse buys.
