Would you propagate a sustainable living style?

When I speak up, I find it best received when I use an educational and informative, helpful approach instead of a judgmental, bashing tone. If you explain to people why simple actions are beneficial, they will undertake the actions to avoid the guilt which would otherwise result by their inaction. To the contrary, a penalizing, judging tone irritates people and motivates them to take action to get back at you. Even if they realize you make a correct point, they might choose to avoid or do the opposite of the behavior you speak up for , even if it means misplacing their desire for retribution on the environment.

Yes,I would like to propagate a sustainable living style. As for me,it is our duty to protect the environment. A sustainable living style is one of good ways to protect the environment. At home,I will set an good example, then ask my families to do that.

I like to minimize my waste and recycle some of it. Gasoline and Electricity are my favorite harps.

I irritate people with my driving tips and electricity saving rants. I have found "recycling" an easier subject and have brought several on board.

One of my pet peeves, is the disposing of plastic bottles with the lids finely screwed onto them!

Yes

All dads do that.

I often see people wasting resources. Would you speak up for it? Would you take action to make people realize the serious of environmental issues in real life? In a summary, Would you speak up about sustainability in front of friends or family members when they waste food, necessities, heat, or others? For example, when a person turns the faucet all the way up to brush his/her teeth, would you stop him/her by chatting politely about importance of conserving?
