Wind power, tidal power, and hydroelectric power are examples of indirect solar energy source. Due to unequal heating at the earth's surface, pressure gradients are formed as well as unequal amounts of evaporation and precipitation. All of these causes wind, tides (in addition to tide caused by the sun and moon), and precipitation which leads makes water available at higher elevations.
