There are several possible problems that you need to check. First the wiring from the solar panel to the batteries then to the inverter. Then you have to consider if the light also has a factory defect and does not really turn on.

If I were you, if you are using this long term you might want to have the pros install your solar panels. I have some solar panels on my roof that takes care of some household appliances.
