Ground dwelling ants live in the ground :D It's where they make their nests/colonies and is their hunting/scavanging areas. Soil makes a good dwelling material because it is soft, light, plyable and can hold its shape so there is less likely of tunnel collapses.
Some ants live most their lives in trees and rarely set feet on the ground. The tree needs soil to grow of course.
I just thumbed down the first answer so stupid. All ants require soil that is where they make their burroughs and take food, and that is where the Queen Ant lives. All larvae are moved around underneath soil have you not ever seen an ant hill big mound of soil with ants crawling all over not being rude I have them
They need a substrate for their housing and to insulate them from the weather. It doesn't have to be soil and gel is often used in ant farms.
to live..they live in soil.
Concrete is too hard for them
Can you plz answer.. I couldn't find an answer for it.. And it's for my homework and thnqu :)
