What is some good gear for climbing trees?

Ex. grippy shoes, a climbing hook (or something like that), no ridiculous things like clips and rope and belts.

What other gear can you think of other than what you have already mentioned? Ask someone who makes a living out of climbing like coconut pluckers, et al.

A natural way (without the gears mentioned by you) is going back to your forefathers' ways.

What is ridiculous about "clips and ropes and belts"? Talk to anyone who climbs trees for a living and you can be sure that they use these things to prevent falls.

an ax and a chainsaw. It's safest to climb horizontal trees rather than vertical.

I would like to know it also. when I was very young and my friends often climb trees but I couldn't. I am a little timid.

safety gear such as Head protection (commonly helmet), Back support (incase you fall), something soft whenever you fall... a trust.

Strong hands and a gurtle.
