I am an eigth grader running for VP for student body council. I will be presenting my speech to 5th, 6th, 7t and 8th graders. I am the 8th grade's class treasurer as well. Please leave your suggestions!
Good Morning/ Afternoon __________ Students,
For those of you who may not know me, my name is ________, I am an eigth grader here at ______, and I am running for the position of VP for Student Body Council during the 2013-2014 school year.
For those here today who may not know what Student Council is, please, let me enlighten you. Student Council is a group of your 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classmates who come together and make decisions based on the creative ideas of our school. Some of the things we decide on are matters such as school fundraising, charities, school wide dances, and even pep rallies.
This being my last year here as an _______ student, I, to the best of my ability, will make this year the most memorable yet for you who are before me. As Vice President it is my job to assist the President in his/her job of leading your Council in important choices. I want to, and will, help to make this place more welcoming and enjoyable every day. I will fill our school year with more fun activities. I will also help to raise money for our school with exciting and successful fundraisers like the carnival we held last year for Mr. ______. I want to give each and every one of you some reason to look forward to coming to our school each morning.
As VP, I will listen to the ideas of the people (you), and work beside you, not above you. You are not here as a student to work alone to make a change. We are all here to work together and help each-other succeed.
I believe that I will make a model VP because I am interested in investing my time and hard work into working for you and with you.
