Too Much on Videogames?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
So I play video games a lot and I figured out that on average I spend £335 a year on steam games (not taking into account) and all the money is from birthdays, christmas, etc with a few exceptions. I don't work as I am under the legal age of employment.

Nothing wrong with playing video games. I don't care about the £ amount of video games but what is that figure as a % of your disposable income?

What are you planning to do with your life? If you want to make millions as a professional game player/reviewer you can hardly play too many games.

If you have other goals and the gaming is interfering with those goals then yes you're playing too many games. If you haven't figured out what you want to do with your life yet it's time to work it out. Don't expect to suddenly know what you want to do with your life you need to look at all the options and decide what you like and don't like. Talk to your careers advice center if necessary- your school might have a careers adviser.

If the gaming is part of your life goals then you're golden. If they're a distraction from your life goals you need to make sure you only play the games when you have achieved what you need to achieve for your life goals. I strongly recommend however you finish your homework before playing video games.

You are never under the legal age for employment but you must remain in full time education until 16 and at least part time education until 18. However you are limited in the kinds of jobs you can do and the hours you can work.

Here's a link about your employment laws:

That's about £29 a month. It's probably above average but some people like video games more than others.

I think you should cut down the spending a bit.
