Is 60watt better then 80watt? Which one would you buy?

Watts is a measure of power, amps is a measure of current. Power is current multiplied by voltage.

5.30 * 12 = 63.6 so approximately 60 Watts.

4.56 * 12 = 54.72, but if you look in the detailed description you will see that the heading is wrong and that panel is 18 Volts, not 12. 4.56 * 18 = 82.08

Basically you have your cause and effect backwards. A 5.3 Amp solar panel can produce 60 Watts of power at 12 Volts, while a 4.56 Amp solar panel can produce 80 Watts because of it's higher, 18 Volt, Voltage.

So in that sense the 80 Watt panel is better. However you have to consider what you are going to use it for because you have to match the voltage to your appliance and if you have say, a 12V battery charger, and an 18V solar panel you would need an adapter to transform the voltage down and that may not be that easy to find and would add to the cost. So I'd say get whichever one matches the rated voltage of the appliance you plan to charge (more likely to be 12 Volt like a car cigarette lighter.) Also I think the mismatch between the headline description and the detailed description of the voltage on the 80 Watt panel is a bit concerning.

I don't use either, I use the low energy ones that are equivalent in brightness to either 60 or 100 watts depending on the application.

And yes, they do produce equivalent amounts of light (they just take a minute or so to reach maximum brightness) - as confirmed using a colleague's photographer's lightmeter.

80 W produce more heat and consumes more energy than 60 W. Better prefer 60 W.

Buy energy saving 11 watt bulb which is equivalent to 60 watt. you will save

60 watts

Power and ampage measure different things.80 w has more power than 60 w

try reading a book under each you will find 100 to be the best. if you are really worried about using up the worlds resorces go to bed when it gets dark

go for 60 watt

What have amps got to with it?

NO!

A 60watt panel can produce 5.30amps (http://www.ebay.com/itm/251053788915?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649)

A 80watt panel can produce 4.56amps

Does that mean 60watt is better then 80watt?
