Nuclear power, or nuclear energy, is the use of exothermic nuclear processes, to generate useful heat and electricity. The term includes nuclear fission, nuclear decay and nuclear fusion. Presently the nuclear fission of elements in the actinide series of the periodic table produce the vast majority of nuclear energy in the direct service of humankind.
:)
All current nuclear energy production relies on nuclear fission to generate electricity.
Just working on my history project, and just needed some additional help. I get that nuclear energy is efficient, clean, renewable, desalinates salt water, and lessens the use of fossil fuels, but is there any specific aspect of manufacturing and productivity that was benefited directly in the result of nuclear power?
