You could use it to do crafts.
1. Make papier- mache bowls. You tear the newspaper into pieces just bigger than a coin. Make a flour paste using two large spoonfuls of flour from your Mum's baking store cupboard. Add just enough boiled water to make a thick paste, Stir continuously until it is smooth. Choose a bowl to cover. Dip the newspaper in the paste so that it takes up just a small amount of paste, enough to make it stick to the outside of the bowl. Cover the entire outside of the bowl with several overlapping layers of this. Do not cover the inside of the bowl. Put it in an airy place and leave for several days until completely dry. You should then be able to gently ease the papier-mache bowl off of it's bowl mould. Some people put a very thin layer of vaseline on the bowl mould to prevent sticking. You then paint the bowls using powder paint or whatever your art shop recommends, and leave to dry before decorating with an abstract design using a contrast colour paint.
2. Gift wrapping. Iron the used newspaper and wrap presents in it. Add a really large bow to make it look decorative.
3. Use it to line the base of your pet budgerigar, canary or parrot's cage and remove at regular intervals and replace with a clean sheet.
4. Use it to make paper airplanes and do the japanese art of paper folding called Origami. Books on this should be available at your library or use the GOOGLE on-line search facility by typing in Origami Instructions'
5.If the sun is very strong and the pot-plants in your green house or conservatory are wilting. You can use sheets of newspaper which you have fixed to the glass panes with Blu-tack or sticky tape to create shade.
You could search online for instructions to turn your waste paper into pulp and make your own recycled paper to use for crafts or as letter paper. the original paper was made by hand, that is why centuries old manuscripts are written on thick paper with raw edges.
1. Reuse it for another gift-giving occasion.
2. Make reusable paper stars.
3. Use the cord handles to hang the large stars or other homemade ornaments.
4. Make your own fancy gift bows.
5. Use the remaining scraps and cardboard for other crafts and projects.
