Can banks do this?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
I had 2 checking accounts. One was overdrawn and I honestly just let it built up until it closed. I was goinf to pay it when I got the letter in the mail stating that I had to pay it and that the account has been closed. I deposited money and already used the money in pending transactions. My bank processed the balance that I owed for my other checking account.

Can they do that without my consent?

How can they use the money when its already pending for something else?

What can I do?

Yes they can. You can't just expect the bank to ignore the fact that you stole from them & not try to get their money back.

You owed the bank FIRST because you were overdrawn. Yes, they can take what you owe them first. Wouldn't you if someone owed you money?

Nothing you can do other than get your finances in order.

so... you tried to steal from a bank and are mad they got there money back?

you must have put the money in the wrong acct
