ATM card balance is wrong?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
Ok so I'm 15 and saving up my money and I know I should have somewhere around $2100 in my account. I only have an ATM card. But I went to make a withdraw today and at the end of the receipt it said "Balance: 37.00" I was like wtf??

And it's weird because my mom called the other day questioning a statement we received in the mail a few days ago bc it said I only had 77.00 in there. And then she called and they said I have somewhere around $2000. I'm so confused? When I went to the bank I asked the manager to look up my deposits and withdraws the highest she said I ever got was $250 back in 2013. Idk what to do

Look over the full statement for the month or a few months to look for any unauthorized deductions. Debit card number theft is fairly common, you may have been ripped off.

Double check on the deposit that made the $2100 balance, a payer check could have bounced.

Walk into the bank and find out what is going on. You can look at your statements to see credits and debits, which would result in changes to the balance.

Where are your bank statements? Aren't you looking at them every month?

And when you make a deposit, you need to keep the receipt and reconcile it with the statement.

No one here can really help you other than to tell you to pay closer attention to the documents you receive regarding your transactions and account.

Who else has access to the account? Is someone else taking your money without telling you?

Go to the bank, and verify all the information.
