I typically come to work wearing dress casual shirts and pants but I would like to look more professional and wear a button-down shirt and tie. Keep your jacket with you. Toss it over a shoulder as you come to work, but definitely have it around or you will look ridiculous. The decision to wear or not to wear the jacket does not depend on the weather.

It would not be weird. They do it every day in NYC. Try to find a very summer material suit that you can wear the jacket too for very important meetings or work lunches with clients.
