For a cashier at a restaurant, nothing too fancy Plain black jeans (my main concern. should I really really not wear jeans even if they're black and not ripped or faded?) Plain blue shirt vneck Light blue button up over top Boat shoe-type sneakers I don't want to dress TOO casual but if I come in looking clean cut and simple is that okay? For a cashier at a restaurant, nothing too fancy Plain black jeans (my main concern. should I really really not wear jeans even if they're black and not ripped or faded?) I hire and fire constantly, owning 5 businesses, and you would not even get a chance to finish one interview at length if you showed up in jeans, no matter the color and sneakers. IF you are even interviewing for a janitor business casual is a must especially if I had two candidates for the job.

Never wear jeans to an interview. Same goes for sneakers. A pair of slacks, a nice polo and some sort of loafers or boat shoes should be fine.

Wear a pair of plain black pants tuck the shirt in and wear a black belt. Shoes are less important aslong as their closed toe and not some crazy weird colors.

Yea I had an interview and I wore something I'd wear to class on a nice day. Got me the job. Especially with black jeans, since they lean towards the dressy side.
