Of course it is fine to wear that :) I see people wear that all the time and it looks great on either gender. If you are planning to wear it somewhere like on a date or church obviously no but to school or the store or somewhere it's great
If you are a girl, find the design crew socks to wear with them..or a guy, with a stripe pair in different colors..gray, red, etc. But, plain black or white would be boring unless the white had a red or blue stripe or something.
