Is it normal of your employer complements you on your toe nail polish?

Like if you're at work, and your boss walks up to you and compliments you on your toe nail polish, is that normal? Would you consider that a compliment and nothing more?

that would make me very uncomfortable, but then, I never wear open-toed shoes at work, it's unprofessional

He's a fricken weirdo

It may not be typical but I don't think its inappropriate. I mean are choosing to show your feet and you are polishing them so they look nice so you are obviously trying to show your feet for a reason our else you'd have them covered. So don't be too surprised if you receive compliments. A simple innocent compliment is nice and not offensive at all. I've received compliments from my boss on my polish color and I'm flattered. I show my feet because i like people to look at them. Otherwise I'd cover them.

I'm not sure you should take it as a compliment, but a warning not to wear open toe shoes to work. Some bosses mean it that way..(like, you plan on doing any work today)?

It's just a complement. Why are you getting so worked up about it? It sounds like your employer was just trying to be friendly.

or they have a foot fetish......

Of course it's normal unless you aren't allowed to have open toe shoes or painted toes than it is a sarcastic warning
