Okay, the title says it all. I want to dye my vans. They are dark blue, more like a navy blue color. I wanted to dye it to black instead of buying another (I'm having a financial struggle right now). Now my question is, will the black dye work on my vans? Sure - they're cotton, aren't they? Some RIT dye out to do it - I would coat the rubber parts with vaseline before immersing them in the dye, do you don't end up with muddy looking soles. You should probably wash them first, so you aren't dying grubby shoes. Some Dawn and water, rinse very very well...
