I'm going to an incoming freshman at Michigan state university. Which is going to be amazing buttttt the thing is I'm a proud Texan ! As you would guess I dress very western/country ( boots, jeans, straw hats, the works) !! My question is A. Do allot of people dress like I do B. Would the way I dress help out with girls up there C. How much attention would I draw to myselfI'm going to an incoming freshman at Michigan state university. Which is going to be amazing buttttt the thing is I'm a proud Texan ! Boots and jeans are standard enough to be quite acceptable. Flat-heeled boots would look more normal than cowboy boots with two-inch heels. Lots of guys wear western-style shirts too. However, a straw hat or a "cowboy hat" would make you look like you were in costume. When you get to Michigan, buy yourself some standard slacks, regular shoes, T-shirts, polo shirts, plaid flannel shirts for cold weather, a dress shirt or two, and a quiet tie. A. Lots of people from the southwest dress like you do. Fewer native Michiganders do. B. Your real Texas accent will be enough to attract swarms of girls, especially if you're from ranch country. C. Your particular personality would determine how much attention you'd draw to yourself. Don't allow your western style to become garish, especially your boots, shirts, or belt buckles.
