What material is used for the piping in water wells?

I have poly pipe coming to my pump, you don't glue it, you use barbed fittings and hose clamps. I wouldn't use galvanized.

The real question is whether you can glue to CPVC or poly pipe... you don't want to make any mistakes in a well. But I can't imagine there would be any problem with this. Wells used to be made out of 21 foot lengths of galvanized pipe.... you can buy that and use it.

I don't know why you wouldn't use PVC, CPVC is the same as PVC just sized different. I would NEVER use galvanized pipe, it will rust, rot and eventually leak. Polyethylene pipe would work good if your pump is in the well. FYI, PVC is rated higher in pressure than poly and you don't have to fuse poly they make excellent brass couplings.

dear , this is Rita from water pipe manufacture, surely PE pipes should have high pressure standard then pvc, but pvc should be good in installation for it can be connected with glue or plug in method is ok. But for PE pipes should be connected with welding machine, so what is the pressure exactly of the well is ?

If I had a water well drilled and put in, what kind of piping is used? I saw in a YouTube video that they use PVC, but I'd rather not use that for drinking water. Can CPVC be used instead? Better yet, what about polypropelene pipe?
