Bedrooms are for sleeping typically and relaxing, so I would recommend do a soothing, relaxing color like light green. Using color psychology, green is a soothing color that makes you feel relaxed and calm, similar to how blue does. I *believe* red can make you angry (it's very energizing), and I *think* orange stimulates the appetite as well. With an orangey red bedroom, you will be an angry hungry person all the time! Lol :p
UNLESS you happen to LOVE the orange red color, then I would completely go with it. There's no point in painting your room a color you hate because you think it will help you sleep better or something, you'll just focus on the fact you settled and hate that color. It's better to be bold if you know you'll love it!
I love using the color wheel and complimentary colors as well, so if you go the light green route, then I would pair that with a red violet, and if you go the orange red route, then pair that with blue green.

Experience: Painted 4 bedroom houses(new homes) One light blue for boy, light pink for girl light green for the unknown sex of third child. Parents bedroom got a light tan kind of like the family room but different.
An orange and red room will be too bright of a color to paint a room.
If you love those colors, paint the room a neutral color and use those colors as accents.
without knowing the size of room or color of furniture it is a wild guess. I would go with the light green because you could change it so many ways without having to repaint, it would go well with white, black, or stained furniture, you could use turquoise accents, pink, burgundy/maroon, pale yellow, you might have a winter comforter/drape set in a darker color like maroon/burgundy and a summer set with turquoise and pale yellow, silver/gray will also go nicely
i like the light green.....
but i would definitely use the orange red colour on certain pieces of furniture...like a small side table & perhaps a coat tree.
