States with least bugs?

Not one of the states is pest free. What pests there are, their range can't be defined by state. It can be drastically different from county to county.

Climate plays a good part in this. The arid desert regions will have the least populations of insects, but the fauna may not be to your liking. other than urban areas, there are scorpions, and large spiders.

Although harmless, they can be a periodic pest in rural areas.

The black widow spider is widespread in the states, and the violin spider in the midwest south.

These are the only two arthropods considered medically significant in populated areas of north America.

Bites are incredibly rare, but encounters are possible. These shouldn't worry you in any event.

I would really question that US bug fauna is much worse than the UK.

The further north you are, the fewer bugs there are, on average.

Colorado would on top of the list the high elevation and cold winters would deter most bugs plus herb is legal there

Alaska as far north as possible.

I would imagine all of the states have pests of some sort, but the northernmost and high altitude states where the climates are colder would have fewer. Seasonal change and duration of that change would have to factored in as well.

North East has a cooler climate, smarter people, and (hey!) less bugs. Coming from the UK, you'll probably fit in better in the North East, not to mention the schools in the North East, especially Massachusetts, are some of the best in the world.

I want to study in America and I hate bugs and pests. I don't mind like flies, knats, mice/rats, beetles and non poisonous spiders because we have them in England but I am terrified of like earwigs(England I know) and the fact that the bugs in the states are so much worse terrifies me. So which states have the least severe bugs/pests
