I wouldn't add a carpet, because there isn't any color to go with a Burgundy wine color. Unless you want to go with Gold or Black and Gold doesn't really look right as a carpet, so I will get a rug with these color on it. But a carpet isn't my opinion for a Wine color set. Now if you would had a Musta Gold Wall then I would have went with a Burgundy carpet. But since it a Wine colored Set I would just stay with the colors in this rug and just past it under the coffee table. I hope I helped.
