When that small timer motor goes bad nothing will move.
That motor is usually right behind the knob that you move into place to start the washer.
Sometimes a sock or small article of clothing will find its way over the rim of the washer and clog the drain line. If you take the front panel off and look to the side you will see it. It is generally two screws to take it off, but have some towels handy to soak up the water!
New dishwasher needed. Just switch it off at the machine.
If it just hums, it doesn't know the words. Old electrician joke.

The electric light on it is on, but it will not wash. The water is in the bottom of it, or it was, until I dipped it out. Now, what should I do? It is an older model, but does not have a plug, is built in, and I cannot disconnect it from the electricity unless I just cut it off at the box in the basement. HELP. I need it.
