HELP: Spider infestation in my bedroom, I am arachnophobic and about to be left home alone :(?

1. Spiders eat pests. Spiders feed on common indoor pests, such as roaches, earwigs, mosquitoes, flies and clothes moths. If left alone, spiders will consume most of the insects in your home, providing effective home pest control.

2. Spiders kill other spiders. When spiders come into contact with one another, a gladiator-like competition frequently unfolds – and the winner eats the loser. If your room hosts common short-legged spiders, this is why the population occasionally shifts from numerous smaller spiders to fewer, larger spiders. That spider, by the way, is known to kill black widow spiders, making it a powerful ally.

They won't get you. Don't worry.

3. Spiders help curtail disease spread. Spiders feast on many household pests that can transmit disease to humans –mosquitoes, fleas, flies, cockroaches and a host of other disease-carrying critters.

Bug spray is rarely effective on spiders. I've hit them with it directly and they keep on going. I can't imagine they care much about perfumes either.

Key is, they're getting into your room from somewhere. Go out and buy some latex/acrylic caulking (the kind that's paintable) and seal any cracks you find in corners. Look all around windows and baseboards where the floor meets the wall. If you have a lot of clearance between your door and the floor, you can get a door sweep to close the gap and not impede door function. If you have ceiling lights, take them down and seal any holes and gaps. For larger gaps, try the spray foam in a can....just be careful getting that stuff on anything, because it's VERY sticky. Depending on how old you are, you may want your parents' permission or help to accomplish this.

Another good tip is to make sure your bed skirt doesn't touch the floor. Take the time to vacuum thoroughly. I'm arachnophobic too, so hang in there!

Hello, a few conkers in the corners of the room affected keeps them out.

put some frogs in your bedroom.. Problem solved..

Ok I live in the UK and the weather has been quite warm recently. In my bedroom I have had these small spiders with short legs crawling everywhere, it's hard to explain but I can hear them moving they make like a tiny crackling/buzzing sound. I am arachnophobic and parents are going on holiday for a week tomorrow leaving me home alone so there is no one to help me. I have tried everything to keep them out of my room - cleaning, de cluttering, spraying perfume and bug spray everywhere but nothing works :( Help me!
