Colors for a steampunk bedroom?

The early Victorian era the colors were kind of earthy/muddy since the pigments were mostly minerals, when most people think Victorian they're thinking Queen Anne period when synthetic dyes came on to the scene & among those who could afford it there was a color explosion, but mostly on exteriors since wallpaper both hid the flaws of age and helped hold together the plaster the walls were surfaced with. I'd go with a deep shade that supports your night sky myself & a single color would be easier on your skill set.

Palettes really are a personal thing or I'd make more solid suggestions like maybe a sage for the earlier version, the real question is how restful a space are you ultimately going to be living with?

How about paint ship on the wall, it seems to be a big job.

I'm trying to give my bedroom a steampunk/Victorian theme. I plan to paint the ceiling a mural of a night sky. A lot of my inspiration for it came from Treasure Planet so if we could keep it in that theme too... I'm not sure if I want to do something big with my walls too, as well I'm not an excellent painter. If you have any ideas- and if they come with tutorials, that would help- please let me know. If one solid color would be better then that's fine too.
