Afraid of silverfish?

Silverfish are not nasty unless you squish them. It isn't the Silverfish that scares me. It is the damage the larvae do to clothes. I've only seen a couple when I was young and when I squished them it was icky. Most insect don't like heavy scents like eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint. Basil keeps flies away. At least that is what I have read. That is why moth crystals keeps those buggers away. But that stuff evaporate quickly and the smell isn't great for clothes. My suggestion is to keep essential oil of one of those scents and place a cotton ball or a sponge and dap a couple drops. I would then get some dry ant killer. It is Boric Acid, safe for us but will dry those buggers up along with the larvae. Sprinkle it along the edges of each room. Try not to breath it in while sprinkling. It can harm your lungs if you breath it in.

If you want, you can put a couple drops of scent into a spray bottle. You can spray it around windows and in closets. It won't hurt your clothes. Spray especially the woolen type items. They don't get worn often during this time of the year. If undisturbed the silverfish will nest there. You could use a scent diffuser for your closet but needs to be refreshed weekly.

The best way to not being scared of silverfish is by getting rid of them. According to me, you should also do that to overcome the fear. I don't know if you know this or not, but they pretty dangerous for your household also, and will do the damages silently mostly in night.

So it is better to get rid of the silverfish completely from your household. By doing so you will overcome your fear and also your house will be much safer place to live.

Nasty little buggers...

They always just show up and scare me half to death. =^=

But they're harmless. :)

I'm so scared of them! I saw one the other day and didn't think much of it and was super tired so I squashed it and went to bed... then the next evening I saw two morw and have been afraid of them ever since!! They were in my bedroom and I see a few now and then. I know they don't do anything, but I'm scared to sleep because they're there. I'm afraid of every itch because I'm sure it's one of them. I cleaned my room thoroughly today and put mothballs in there for aa while, but I'm not sure if it'll keep them away. What can I do???
